There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den betting is illegal. Eight casinos are based in a generally tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly needed to cross, there are methods around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling den, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the common table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel building that highlights many amenities on top of the gambling hall, which has ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
